I am a Member of the Council for Exceptional Children, and I can get liability insurance for teaching students $ 15, but I can not read the contract in advance so I do not know if it is reliable or not. Thanks to Forrest T. Jones. I know that the Ohio Education Association offers it, but it would cost more because I would have to accede. Advice? I'd rather be safe than sorry. I recommend you take out liability insurance. I managed to take over the policy of my own the house and it was cheap. If you do not own a house then I go ahead and go out with your board. Maybe ... When I went into my teaching of students, liability insurance has been paid by my university (university closed) so I do not need to purchase additional insurance. Now that I am an educator teaching in a public university, the fee is not paid in tuition fees for students. Therefore, my students must pay the tax by providing their own insurance. I teach in Texas and a member of WISE ......... Professional Association Educators. They provide liability insurance for teachers. I teach in OH and graduated from here and never heard of getting liability insurance. I'm pretty sure the university saves some, but probably minimal. You do not need if you were negligent or criminal in your behavior. I do not think you need to worry about accidents. I would first check with the university. Check with your insurance policy or the parents, too. It can cover you or you may be able to add a rider but I think that BAE is probably your best choice. I was a member of TSTA / NEA for 25 years, and I highly recommend both if you're in Texas. Texas State Teachers Association lobbied lot this year and helped get the legislature to approve a $ 4,000 per year to increase teachers. In other states, I know that the NEA is available. NEA National Education Association, and as an organization with 2.1 million members, it is very reliable and most influential. You get a membership card which allows you to get discounts on hundreds of purchases you make each year from fast food to cruise holidays. This year I saved money on home and auto insurance, motel and rental cars, new glasses, and much more, by showing my card or print coupons TSTA or the website of the NEA. Liability insurance is absolutely the best. They have a legal department that fights for your rights if someone tries to violate them. Go to www.nea.org for more info. www.tsta.org and if you are in Texas. I've never heard of liability insurance for teaching students. what could it cover? It seems a waste to me.
