President Roosevelt and his committee drafted the Social Security Act under the New Deal in 1935. The act was created to limit the dangers of modern American life, including the elderly, poverty, problems faced by widows, orphans, and unemployment. SSI benefits help those who fall into these categories receive cash assistance. For the elderly, the SSI will allocate funds to assist seniors in the state. SSI benefits also go to mothers on child protection and disability. The law also provides for SSI payments for pensioners and people whose relatives have died. The Social Security Act is also known as the Law on pension. Roosevelt wanted to protect the American people against the financial difficulties of the SSI. It was the first president who wanted to protect the elderly from money troubles inevitable.

He had a lot of controversy with the Social Security Act over the years. Many believed the writing of this act, it would be an influx of job losses. Others believed it would be a good thing because it would cause many seniors to lose their jobs, which in turn create more jobs for young and capable. The program is now one of the most popular in the United States.

An interesting fact is when he started the women, it is initially excluded and covered the white men in the categories of old age pensions and unemployment insurance. In addition, there were many jobs which are not covered by SSI benefits, including agricultural work, domestic service, government employees, teachers, nurses, librarians and social workers. Although many of these MPs south did not agree with non-whites to receive the same benefits of the IMS act as white men. Many members of Congress southern avoid signing the law for that reason. In order to obtain the signatures in the South (which was a major procurement, signed the Act), the solution was to allow each state can be held responsible for the WHO would be excluded from the Act Social Security.

Social Security in the United States is a social insurance program funded through dedicated payroll taxes called Federal Insurance Contributions Act (FICA).
