Social Security ReconsiderationPosted on January 28, 2010. How long does it take for Social Security to respond to a request for review "? I disagreed with a decision that the ad ministration of the Social Security does. I followed its written procedures and filed the request for review "form in July 2006. He is now at the end of January 2007 and I still have not received a response to my request. By the time u take off holidays and weekends, they do not work and appointments for the day of mourning, 6 months is not really long .. (Knowing that most of them have worked as hald of the time). It took me 4 years to get disability (I had 3 hearing dates) ... they get no hurry .. More than likely the original decision stand ... Keep calling them and listening the shit out of them and they end up sick of hearing u.. Govt gets no hurry .. It takes 45 days to get food stamps EMERGENCY .. Just hang I have absolutely no idea what it is that you've asked the government, and require a response from them. But I think I am quite correct to say that because you are awaiting a response from the government that they can make any indication of the appointed time they have advised you to Forever. It's called Government.God help you if something is lost in the confusion between departments. The best I can suggest is follow up with the number of last contact, etc. best form of luck. I was refused in May 2005 and I have not heard of them. So good luck to you, there are nearly two years for me. When I called on behalf of my daughter who gets benefits, but they had the wrong information I was told I needed to complete an application for review. They told me to present evidence to support my statements and it will take about 6 weeks. Now I'm wondering that I really should send this request if it takes so long to get things moving. I understand there are so many cases, but even if I take it directly to my office here in town SS does it for all it's yours? You should have received an answer months ago. Here is a deer (based on bitter experience!) When dealing with government - especially when challlenging - you must be persistent. Polite but persistent - because they will not do anything until they get it through their thick skulls that you will not go away until the matter is resolved to your satisfaction. And start looking for a lawyer accustomed to dealing with them - it seems that you're going to need one. In general, so that you filed an application for review and not an action before a court of law. It should take an average of 120 days before you hear a decision. Sometimes it is something like people move and do not update the address that people do not receive a decision. Or the documents were not submitted in a timely matter. To be sure to contact SSA 800-772-1213. Given the underfunding of the agency, they do what they can. They have piles and piles of cases to work every day. With the potential to leave within 10 days of the Agency of the American people will suffer even more. Agency employees will be replaced at a ratio of 1 to 8. Congress really needs to approve an acceptable budget. They are saying FU to the American people. CommentsThere are no comments.Leave a Comment |
