Small Business Health Insurance Cheap As a small business owner, you know the importance of being able to offer your employees' health insurance. You also know the costs associated with it. What the owners of small businesses do? How can they afford it? Well, according to state your business resides, there may be government help.
For example, in the State of New York, Governor Pataki has proposed and Legislature has approved and adopted a program called NY health. This program helps small business owners health insurance for their employees.
Similarly, the state of Ohio, allows the group purchasing arrangements (GPA). This is where the small and large employers may join together to purchase insurance plans and take advantage of lower premiums. Some are formed as a result of State legislation / regulation and others formed a new GPA associations.
Kansas Health Partners Benefit Association of Kansas. Their mission is to help reduce the number of uninsured in their state by helping small businesses so they can be able to offer affordable health insurance to their employees.
A bill introduced in the House of Representatives of the Georgia Democratic Representative John Barrow. The purpose of the bill, HR 2073: Small Business Health Insurance Promotion Act of 2005 is "... to provide tax subsidies to encourage small employers to offer affordable health coverage to their employees through qualified health pooling arrangements ... "
There is a proposal before Congress. It should be passed by the House and Senate and signed by the President before it is entitled. Get involved, contact your representative. Tell them to vote in favor of this proposal. After all, we elected to do our bidding.
Ultimately, if you're a small business, visit the website of your state to see what legislation has been enacted in your state. Also check if there are programs in existence which allow you to help provide health insurance for your employees.
