Ri Temporary Disability

Posted on January 30, 2010.
Ri Temporary DisabilityWhen should I apply for TDI (temporary disability) for my maternity leave?

I live in RI if I am eligible for temporary disability after having my baby. When should I ask? I am in mid-July, so I do not know the dates that I'll leave for now. I'll try to work as long as I can until it is born.

You have to go ahead and talk to someone in human resources and see what procedures you need to take and all the paperwork.
I know in my company for the use of short-term disability, they should be notified in advance of my due date in order to approve it. Then the director gave me a presentation that will be completed and signed by the physician with the date of delivery of the child and returned by mail while I was on maternity leave, so I can get my check and they could calculate my time of 6 weeks for a normal vaginal delivery - 8 weeks for caesarian section or complications. Then they gave me papers to sign my doc @ postpartum check if I could return to work.

Ask your employer for the newspapers today and fill out everything you can then in June to give your doctor for complete filling and delivery when you recover, you can put them at the beginning and your employer to send to the insurance company in this way one less thing to worry about insurance companies and, as for the papers of early disability (which means less lag time you make your first check) Good luck and congratulations!

I would call the agency or even view them online. I bet they have often posed questions on a website somewhere. Or even on a record through their phone system. You can also ask your hospital. I bet if it is something that the State does their work on paper so you can fill out or information on this subject. Good Luck.

You must call the agency you need to apply to their request. Each state has different guidlines. Here you ask for help after the baby is born.
