Not At Fault AccidentPosted on February 8, 2010. No accidents shows that the fault to fault. How can we remove this? My husband was hit by a drunk driver last year in Virginia. The other driver was taken to the hospital, arrested and charged with driving while impaired and received a citation. We recently moved to Florida and try to change insurance company, because our society does not work in FL, but the new insurance (Progressive) shows that this fault accident on the driving record of my husband. How do we solve this? Easy call your old insurance company when the claim happened. Ask them to contact the claims department. They will write a letter for you and fax to the insurance company that you want to write with. If you have proof that your husband was not at fault (eg, police report) to that in the agent and they can gradually adjust your premium. I am a licensed agent and I worked for the car insurance for 2 years. If we withdraw the report and it shows signs of fault, we uprate policy. If you have your police report and it shows what happened, you can fax or post to your insurance company and they will change to a not at fault. No extra charge Progressive can call your old insurance company and talk to the adjuster. They can tell them the phone that your husband was not at fault.
