There are many Americans who are currently unable to work due to some sort of disability. Since as a people, we believe that this should not prevent a person from living a normal life in a beautiful apartment, we have the social security system that allows those who are unable to work to collect some money that government form that will allow to live and eat. There is a catch though, if you want to receive these benefits, you will be able to prove that you are disabled in some way, and this may tend to become somewhat difficult.



If you have some sort of medical condition, you should make sure it is well documented. This means you will actually seek treatment, and if you do not work then it might be a little difficult to do, but see if you can have someone else pay the doctor bills for you while you recover on your feet.

The disability must have affected you so that you have not been able to work for at least a year, for most, or it must affect you in a way that you can not perform your job as you once as possible. Proof of this will be needed when you file your application with the Social Security Office. You will also find that if you make over $ 500 per month, you probably will not be eligible for social security benefits. There are people who will solve this by either leaving their jobs or simply ask for less hours. It may seem harsh, but if you have a medical condition that interferes with your performance at work, fewer hours would be a good idea.



That said, the next step would be to file in the office of social security. If you have medical documentation sufficient for most people, you may need to be examined by their doctors.



Regardless of how thorough the process is, you will probably be denied, so be prepared for a long battle. If you are denied, however, you have the chance to appeal the decision three times, including in some cases, still does not really help. There are many other steps, including a trip to the Federal Court if it ends up going too far. The process of obtaining social security benefits is certainly not easy.



If you feel you need these services, you should be nothing stopping you from trying to get it because all this can be a bit rough today, the rest of your life we are talking about, and that you want to be comfortable. This will be a great thing to not need to worry about little things like whether or not you will be able to last place of work or where your next meal. It will be difficult, but in the end it's worth.
