Ike Insurance

Posted on February 25, 2010.
Ike InsuranceIs there insurance I could buy to cover the content of my passage of Hurricane Ike?

I live in Galveston, Texas area.I filed a claim with my insurance company against damage caused by Hurricane Ike. My insurance does not pay anything at all. Texas Wind Insurance Association pays only for damage caused to the house itself, they do not cover the contents of my. Is there any assurance that I could buy to cover my content?

Next to you, (Lake Charles, Louisiana), I just wanted to say sorry to hear all these things happening to you, but glad you're safe and authorized ... that's all that counts!

I wanted to give you this information .....

Have you tried to get SBA loans? (When you register for FEMA, you should get a package in the mail from them.)
Registered for FEMA?

I do not understand all the tricks to SBA, but I know it will help you with the insurance does not pay for orders.

To answer your question, yes, you can get the content added to your plan, just be sure you're clear on when you put money on insurance and allow a bit more because of changes prices.

If you have contents coverage by TWIA, which would cover wind damage to your content.

If you had coverage against flooding, with a blanket over the content, it would cover flood damage to your content, which were in the house, above ground level.

If you are told you do not cover content, so you could have bought a cover content. And you should call your agent on Monday to see about adding content, so that the next hurricane is covered.

** PS, I lost my house in Galveston, too, and has no insurance on this. We're heading down tomorrow to see if everything is salvage, but I doubt .**

Well, we had to have insurance against flooding where I live (IL) (required by a mortgage) and I know it does not cover the content .... single dwelling, and washer and dryer, etc. All clothing, etc., we lost because of flooding rains of Ike are not covered.
Sucks.

Why Your landlord's insurance does not pay? Was this flooding?
