Credit cards and debit cards offer great convenience by eliminating the need to transport large amounts of money, and allows us to purchase items through mail order and telephone and internet. However, these advantages also apply to fraudsters who are willing to use your card details to make fraudulent purchases and transactions. The following tips are some simple precautions you can take to protect your cards and your personal data:

1. Never give personal information or bank account

Your bank will never ask for your full issue personal identification number (PIN) or password, only a few numbers or letters of each. If someone claiming your bank approaches you, phone you or e-mail and you request such information, refuse and contact your bank as soon as possible using a number announced.

2. Keep your card details and Safe

Most fraud occurs from information is stolen after paperwork or information is discarded. Therefore, you should always keep statements and letters from the bank with the card and account details in a safe place. If you do not throw them, make sure you shred or destroy them before discarding.

3. Keep your receipts

Keep receipts for all transactions, especially those made with a credit card or debit card. Not only do they provide proof of purchase for any refund or exchange necessary but can be used to check the reports to ensure that all transactions have lived properly.

4. Always check your statements

Please always check your statements when they arrive. Search for all transactions that you do not recognize. This also applies to all funds within your account and leave. If you do not yet know the origin of the transaction, then contact your bank or credit card company immediately.

5. Online Shop only at secure websites

When you enter personal information including credit or debit card, look for the icon secure website. This is a small padlock icon that appears in the lower right corner of your web page. The beginning of the retailer's Internet address will change from "http" to "https" when a purchase is made using a secure connection. If the page does not display the icon sure does not complete the operation and consider contacting the operator directly for further assistance.

6. Sign in to check your credit card

When paying online with your credit card, you may be able to enroll in a verification program to protect your card more. Simply enter some personal details and choose a password. On all future transactions, you will be asked to enter the password, and your credit card details. Because you know the password, verify that you're actually the owner of the card and allows the transaction is completed. 7. Print your order

When shopping online, always print a copy of your order and the terms and conditions of society. Also note the company name and address and all contact details.
