Company Employer Liability Insurance

Posted on January 12, 2010.
Company Employer Liability InsuranceHow do I know if a British company public and / or employers liability insurance?

I am about to deal with a company who say they have them but can not provide evidence - which seems suspicious to me is if there is a "central registry" or something that I could check??

If a British insurance company has incurred the liability, they must display the original certificate or at least one copy of it.
It must be displayed at a point where it can be seen.

They must present their certificate of liability of employers to shoulld be suspended somewhere on the wall in their premises.

PL has no cert, but they should be able to show that the political calendar of dates for the current coverage and policy number clearly visible on her.

If they can not or will not show you whether I personally woud refuse to deal with them. Drop them a line with a deadline for providing information. The kind of things to ask are:

Name of insurer
Name and address of broker (if applicable)
FSA registration number of the above two
policy number (s)
Start and end cover
Limit compensation if

If they do not want to give him direct and clear.

There is no such thing as a "certificate of liability, but if they have cover liability of the employer, a certificate has been issued by the insurer and must be displayed at their premises Under the law of the United Kingdom.

In any event, they should be able to provide you with a copy of their schedule which will detail all insurance covers the present scheme.

If they can not (or not), I would suspect to deal with them.

In contact with them

If they have public liability insurance and employers will be issued with a certificate that they would be able to show you. It seems that if they did not.

you can not - other than by visual inspection

There is no central registry.

It is not necessary for a company to have liability insurance and no certificate of liability insurance.

All companies must have an employer liability insurance and a copy of the certificate must be displayed at each place where the company operates.

Please note that this coverage will be of no use to you whether you are not an employee of the company.

Maybe yo caould asked to provide details of their insurance broker and you can contact them. - To search the official form.
