Proponents of socialized medicine, do you know that the U.S. government has been in the insurance industry for? past 40 years and is handling it badly. The National Flood Insurance Program began in 1968. The government insurance companies of insurance against floods. In the absence of competition, the government can impose what it wants. Currently, the program is 19 billion dollars in the red. Where do you think of the money will pay for these losses?
Medicare loses money every year. Medicaid is a program of gift. You do not see it would be impossible for our government to launch a health insurance?
I knew that the National Flood Insurance Program is a federal program, but do not know they have 19 billion dollars in the red, but I'm quite surprised.
Health care is much more fundamental that insurance against floods. You can not compare the two.
and yes, it is possible that we can run an effective program, as long as the American people stay on top. It must always be a priority even above the Council.
Are you saying we should stop Medicare and Medicaid?
I like how your only justification for why the government should not do something is all about money.
Why do not you want to save lives? Who will do better than? This is not the private sector.
its better than what we have now, so im for it
Yes, you are right. The U.S. government can manage anything good.
We must therefore seek advice from those of other countries that manage to provide health care, education, world-class service, and social support for all their people with much less. I mean, Sweden is still a monarchy, and they can remove it with guns in every house.
You have already tried to buy insurance against floods from a private insurer? Sorry, an act of God.
A few million dollars after World War II, and look what the Europeans achieved. Why not do it?
So I think your irritation is misdirected. Everyone keeps saying, "the U.S. government is too incompetent to manage the X!" Ok, so we all agree on this part. ... So as Americans, we're all screwed? It is a fact that our leaders and representatives are obviously incompetent, and our system so bad that he can not do anything for us.
This is not a reason to be against socialized medicine, but a great reason to be against the U.S. government as it is. If we do not reform this puppy, well, we will be the only ones who think we are a great country, then everyone will say "those poor, poor American people have to live like that."
Maybe if our giant corporations have started, oh I know, giving our tax system rather than starting a charitable foundation that eat tons of money, very few things really well, and take their tax liability we would not have lost as much on those social programs? But no, the more money you have, the easier it is to avoid contributing to the system, and who is wrong.
