Auto Liability Insurance

Posted on February 25, 2010.
Auto Liability InsuranceIf you auto liability insurance equal to your net worth you need to pay out of pocket if pursued?

Let's say that my net worth was $ 100,000. If my bodily injury liability insurance was $ 100,000 that would mean I would never have to pay out of pocket if someone tried for a car accident?

Could I be sued for more than I have and still be forced to pay out of pocket? Or can I be sued for what I have and auto insurance will pay for all this?

Say you have been negligent in a collision in which a young mother or the father of two or three children died in the accident. You probably would be sued and a ruling against you beyond your limits. Yes, you would pay from your pocket and, if necessary, they could take almost everything yourself. If seriously injured, medical management alone could eat $ 100,000.00 and you would still suck eggs.Talk to your insurance agent about an umbrella policy.r

Your insurance covers, not limits, your responsibility.
If the liability exceeds the coverage, it comes out of your pocket,
or your skin.
If youv'e got $ 100K, pay the extra $ 50 a year, a bump on the responsibility
$ 300K, and I hope you do not have to be glad you did.
